Maliki impeachment after month of Ramadhan: Iraqi MP

Iraqi MP Qassem Mohammad from the Kurdish coalition said the request for Nouri Maliki’s impeachment will be presented to the Parliament after the month of Ramadhan.
“Delays in presenting the impeachment request to the Parliament President were due to the Parliament being already busy approving other laws that too have been delayed,” this MP said to the Iraqi NINA news agency. “In addition to this, its simultaneity with the month of Ramadhan is yet another factor.”
Ghassem Mohammad added, “Despite the caused delays, the issue of impeachment remains on the table and will be presented to the Parliament after the end of Ramadhan. The participating parties in the Arbil and Najaf meetings have not altered their positions and the issue of impeachment is moving forward naturally. The committees established for this cause are busy finalizing the case and dossiers raised in this impeachment.”
