One hundred thousand of you came here today because you believe in democracy, freedom and change. I am here to tell you that we hear you in the United States. And even more importantly the regime in Tehran hears you as well, which is why they fear you as they do.
The State Department called me and said that you should not get involved with the PMOI because they are small cult organization of no more than 2000 people. There are 2000 people in the first 4 rows here tonight!
I want to thank you ladies and gentlemen for being here, for your presence and your enthusiasm and for making a joke out of the claim that this is a small splinter organization. Some small splinter!
I urge your organization to edit the best 30 minutes to hour of the Villepente Gathering and put it on TV in Washington in the hopes some people in the State Dept. might actually see the reality that this is a massive worldwide movement for liberty in Iran, not anything like the Dept.’s descriptions.
Look at all of you: men, women, young, old, religious, secular. This is diversity… You are not terrorists; in fact you are the answer to terrorism.
110,000 people passed the detectors. Probably no political party group in Europe could gather so many people in one room as the NCRI has. This is contrary to the US State Dept.’s claims that there is a lack of popular support. The images speak for themselves.
