Iran’s repressive police agents raided people’s homes in various areas of Tehran, rounding up satellite dishes. According to the state-run ISNA news agency, on Wednesday, June 18th, the ‘rounding up of satellite dishes began in the dark in various areas of Tehran, especially in the western areas”.
ISNA also admitted such measures have failed, adding, “Limitations imposed to this day to prevent citizens from using new communications and media technology have not fruited the desired results.”
It is worth noting that Mullah Rouhani in his trip to New York had deviously responded to a question in this regard, “In Iran everyone can have easy access to satellite networks, and you will see satellite dishes even on village roof tops.”
