Camp Liberty

Liberty must be recognized as refugee camp, Irish Republican Party

All agreements with UN must be guaranteed and implemented based on commitments before any further relocation

Irish Republican Party issued a statement in July 2012 on the current situation in Ashraf and Liberty in Iraq stressing on the below issues:
- Any intervention and aggression in affairs of Ashraf and Liberty residents is unacceptable and must not be tolerated.
- All agreements with UN must be guaranteed and implemented based on signed commitments before any further relocation takes place from Ashraf to Liberty.
The below issues are especially in precedence:
- Iraqi armed forces exiting Liberty grounds
- Transfer of 10 four-door vehicles with every group of Ashraf residents to Liberty
- Assigning a specific date for connecting Liberty to the city water and electricity grids
- Allowing building activities and making green areas in Liberty
- And the transfer of the remaining belongings of those residents already relocated to Liberty
